MOUNTAIN BIKING: Hayes Gap

← KY MARTINS FORK HARLAN KY Single Tracks →

Description

Trail is very up and down. theres a few spots with avoidable mud puddles, but the 4x4 road is very hard packed except where climbing or decending where its a bit more choppy. you could probably ride +15 miles on these old mountain top mining roads without hitting the same trail twice. expect up to 600\' of elevation change throughout the trail, highest point is over 2000\' above sea level (or 1100\' above Barbourville) very quick fun ride with some quick descents and long climbs, all the while getting a great view of the Appalachians. Trail very commonly used, and expect to meet a 4-wheeler or 4x4 along the trail. Great Riding!

Directions
